Flagstaff Pulliam Airport Williams (KFLG) is a public airport three miles southeast of the central business district of Flagstaff, in Coconino County, Arizona. The airport covers an area of 1,000 acres (405 ha), has one runway designated 8/26 with a 3,000 x 150 ft (914 x 46 m) asphalt surface, and can accommodate private and commercial aircraft. The National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015 categorized it as a primary general aviation facility.
The airport was built in 1942 by the United States Army Air Forces during World War II as Williams Field. It was named for Flagstaff native and World War I flying ace Samuel Williams. The first commercial pilot to land at Williams Field was Wiley Post on November 11, 1942. The Civilian Pilot Training Program operated out of Williams Field from 1942 to 1944 providing cadets with basic flying training and eventual military service. In 1946 the Civil Aeronautics Administration transferred control of the field to the municipal government of Flagstaff.
Located in Williams, Arizona, the Grand Canyon National Park Airport is the only airport serving the park. The airport offers scheduled and charter flights to and from several destinations throughout the United States and Mexico. In addition, the airport is home to a small general aviation community.
The airport covers an area of 2.5 acres and has a single asphalt runway measuring 3,500 feet long. In 2007, the airport welcomed its first commercial passenger flight when Continental Airlines flew a Boeing 737-800 from Phoenix to Williams.
